From The East:

Your Worthy Patron and I sincerely hope you have had a most enjoyable summer. The green leaves of spring are now tinged with gold and red as September links summer with fall. We hope you are rested and are ready for the upcoming fall activities. Sisters and Brothers, your presence in my life is truly a special gift.

Next Meeting – Sept 27, 2013

Join us at our next stated meeting at 7:30m where we will have a special donation presentation to the American Cancer Society Making Strides Breast Cancer Campaign. Please wear something pink – jewelry, socks, gown, a scarf – to support our efforts on behalf of Making Strides.

This meeting is also our Annual Meetings where we’ll have Election of officers and vote on dues and other business items.

At Our Last Meeting

After opening the meeting in June, we recessed to celebrate our Sisters who reached great milestones in our Chapter – Sister Carolyn Phinney who celebrated 60 years of service along with Sister Jean C. Sudsbury, PM who celebrated 65 years of Service. Sister Jean was presented with a special program celebrating her as Pilgrim Chapter’s longest serving Past Matron. We also celebrated our Past Matrons and Past Patrons who could be with us for a special program. Sister Phyllis A. Lackie, PM, and Sister Jacqueline J. Cole, QS, made a special presentation to the Chapter of beautiful shawls embroidered with the Star Point symbols to keep in their chairs. Sister Phyllis and Sister Lisa J.M. Proulx, PM, then presented Sister Jackie with a beautiful white shawl of her own. We draped the altar for Sister Cynthia J. Salisbury, PGM, who passed away in June 2013.

The Finance Committee recommended that the Chapter increase dues by $5 for the 2014 year. Therefore, dues will be $35 and assessment will stay at $10. Total charge will be $45 per member who is not remitted for financial reasons. Those reaching 50 years membership before 2011 are remitted in full; those attaining 50 year membership after 2011 are remitted but must pay the Grand Chapter annual per capita currently $5. We will vote on the recommendation at the Annual Meeting in September.
