From your Secretary
At our September meeting the Dues amount for 2019 was approved by voted of the Chapter. There was an increase of $3.00 to cover the increase on the per Capita as voted at Grand Chapter this year. Please note that the increase at Grand Chapter now allows for New Hampshire members to attend Grand Chapter in NH without paying a Registration fee. Their NH dues card (thus showing they have paid their per capita through their Chapter) allows them to attend Grand Chapter. You still need to pick up a registration packet upon entering Grand Chapter and show dues card, but you do not need to pay a fee as long as you have a current NH Chapter 2019 card.

Dues notices will be included in your December mailing by first class mail (later this year due to General Grand Chapter and thus the lateness of the Dues cards). Reminder that those who attain 50 year membership on/after the year 2011 are remitted their dues portion but the Chapter asks that they pay their per capita portion. If you are suffering from financial hardship and unable to pay dues -please contact your Sister Secretary so work out payment plan or solution. The Paypal ability will be up and running by December 2018 and you can pay on line. NOTE: There is an additional fee accrued that happens when you pay on line which is the cost of the convenience of on line Paypal usage.

Your dues notice also has area to update records for changes to our membership database. It is also crucial to keep our mailing records up to date, so if you have a change of address please do not delay at sending the Secretary a change of address as soon as possible.

Finally  – it is very important that you make sure your family members know that if you should pass away or become incapacitated that they should let the Secretary or the Worthy Matron of the Chapter know.

SUPPER SEASON:
A HUGE THANK YOU to all of those who helped out with the suppers this Fall. This is a big fundraiser for our Chapter and many hands make light work. It is easy work and everyone can take a turn at chairing and working a supper event. Consider helping out when the Spring schedule comes up…it is lots of fun!

At our last meeting: We had two meetings this past month- a special meeting to initiate Kat and Brett (and the officers did a beautiful job) and then a regular business meeting. At our stated meeting we voted to donate to the Scholarship Fund that Nashua #9 had been working to increase and promote this month as part of the GWA initiative ( “Hope for the Future Scholarship Fund”). We also accepted the date for Visitation for 2020. We passed around our Jar for Maddie – our GWA- as we collect monthly to help her with her needs. Our Worthy Matron reminded us to continue to collect puzzles for Evergreen Place, Blankets for Humane Society, Toiletries for Bridges. It was mentioned that our date for our Bowl-athon January 5 may need to change as the Circus Stars Monarch Charity event is now same date/time- but no change has been made yet.

Nashua Assembly #9 I.O.R.G.: The Rainbow Girls are actively looking for new members, as well as Majority members and Eastern Star members which they can emulate. If you wish to help out, please feel free to stop in a meeting sometime. They are always looking for new members. If you know of a girl, age 11-20 years old, who could benefit from the lessons taught therein, please call Sister Lois Taylor, Mother Advisor, at 603-377-6877. Meetings are held on the first and third Thursdays of each month (excluding July and August) at 7:00 pm.

From the East:
As November rolls along Stephen and I want to be thankful for our veterans who served our great nation at our most vulnerable of times. We are fortunate to have so many willing to lay down their lives for our freedom. We also want to wish everyone a Most Happiest of Thanksgiving. May you all Thank God who has Blessed us with so much bounty in food, family and friends.

As always, so that none shall be forgotten, please contact the Worthy Matron or Secretary as to any sad or glad tidings!
