Back to Basics Seminar: The OES Membership Committee is sponsoring a ‘Back to Basics’ seminar on Sunday December 2 in Penacook NH from 2-5pm. The seminar is free of charge and all OES members are welcomed. Topics include Marketing, Communication, Generational Changes, and Leadership Qualities, all of which can help your Chapters to grow. Please join us for an afternoon of cheerful companionship and social enjoyment while we learn more about enhancing our membership. RSVP to Joan L. Smith P.M. Congratulations to our newest initiated members Sister Tatiana and Brother Chris Fowler. They are the daughter and son-in-law to our Brother Anthony F. Zanichkowsky. We hope you both come often and enjoy being active members of our Chapter! Congratulation also to Sister Christine A.H. Mulcahy on the marriage of her daughter, Erica; and to Sister Lisa Retey on the birth of her third daughter this October.

Sickness and Distress: Sister Katherine Jo Drown, PM, had surgery recently and is recuperating; Brother David C. Thompson, Jr., PGP, is doing better but still doing PT after his leg surgery; Sister Sandra G. Dudley P.M. has been ailing and is in Lafayette Nursing Home now in Franconia; Sister Cynthia B. Covey had major leg vessel surgery and is now home recuperating; and Brother Richard J. Thompson, PP, has had a recent bout of Bronchitis but is on the mend. All these members could use thinking of you cards, and well wishes

Sympathy is extended to Sister Julia Pitarys whose sister passed away; Sister Mary Catherine Albenzi whose aunt in passed away; and to Brother Davis ‘Skip’ Bryant whose sister passed away.

Unity Party: Tickets are on sale now for the Unity Party, Saturday, Dec 1 at the Shrine Center in Concord, NH from 4-9pm. Enjoy an evening of socializing, a delicious buffet dinner, and dancing. Tickets are $22 per person and are available from Joan L. Smith P.M., Secy, as well as several heads of bodies throughout the state.

Dues and Assessment: Some members still have not paid their dues for 2012. Please check to see if you have your dues card in your wallet, and if not, send the fee into the Secretary as soon as possible. Please take note: Dues notices for 2013 are included in this mailing

What happened at our recent meeting? At our last meeting we had a ‘step back’ night where our 2011-12 Officers swapped stations with our current Officers, and did the Initiatory work on two new members. We draped the Altar in memoriam for the passing of Br. Raymond M. Flynn, P.P., and Sr. Beatrice R. H. Gilker.

Nashua Assembly #9 I.O.R.G. and Pledge & Sparkles: Meetings are held on the first and third Thursdays of each month at 7:00 pm. OES and Masonic members are encouraged to attend ALL events. The next meetings are Nov 1 and Nov 15. Please feel free to contact Mrs. Deborah A. Wall, M.A. for more information regarding any Rainbow events at (603)494-9299.

For Pledges and Sparkles, please call Sister Sharon M. Jackson, P.M., Pledge Mother at (603)459-8036 or Sister Stacy M. Desrosiers, P.M. at (603)579-0519 if you know of a girl between 6-11 years old (for Pledge) and 4-6 years old (for Sparkle) who would like to join.

NH Grand Chapter OES Scholarships: If you or a relative (child, grandchild) are interested in applying for the OES Educational Scholarship, and wish to be sponsored through our Chapter, you must send a letter to the Chapter Secretary no later than the December 2012 meeting date. NOTE: An earlier date for submission of nominee has been requested by the Scholarship Committee. All letters requesting consideration for this Scholarship will be read and voted on at our January meeting. Only one applicant can be chosen from each Chapter. Please contact the Secretary if you have any questions.

Volunteers Needed: The Nashua VFW has requested help to place flags at Veteran’s graves on November 10 from 9-10:30am at Edgewood Cemetery.

Tabs for Shriners: The Nashua Rainbow Girls continue to collect can tabs for the Shriners Hospitals as a service project and would be more than happy to take any tabs collected off your hands. Feel free to drop Tabs off at any meeting, or if you need a pick up from your home feel free to contact Sister Joan L Smith P.M. Secretary, for pick up of tabs from your home.
