December 2010

Dear Sisters and Brothers:

You are cordially invited to attend the stated meeting on Friday, December 17, 2010 at 7:30pm, for the
purpose of receiving petitions, balloting, and transacting any business that may legally come before the Chapter. Sister Officers may wear colored gowns.

Please Note:
The location of our December stated meeting will be Salem Masonic
Temple. Per our By-laws, the December meeting is moved to the
third Friday of the month when the meeting falls on a holiday
or Christmas Eve. Last year, Salem Chapter came to visit with
us for their December meeting and this year our Chapter voted
to reciprocate and move our meeting to Salem. We look forward
to joining our Sisters and Brothers in Salem Chapter #57 for
this December meeting.

Collation
– Under the direction of Sister Lisa K. Britko, P.M., A.M., assisted
by Sister Judy A. Porter and Brother Robert Porter.

Congratulations
to Sister Nora and Brother David Hunt, who are the proud parents
of a baby born this fall; and to all our Sisters and Brothers
of Pilgrim Chapter who were recently installed in other OES Chapters,
and thank you for your continued service to the organization.

Sickness and Distress: Sister Jeannette Healey, P.M., has been a little
under the weather; Brother Abbott Rice was visited and found
to be well; Sisters Valerie Sonner and Jackie Poisson could use
cards of encouragement; Brother Norman Poisson will be going
in for knee surgery December 1 and needs cards and well wishes;
and please keep Sister Janet Thompson, P.M., and Brother Dick
Poole, P.G.P., in your thoughts and prayers as they work through
health problems of their family members. All are encouraged to
continue to keep Brother Fred Clarke, Most Worthy Grand Patron,
in your thoughts and prayers as he continues to undergo treatment
for Cancer. As always please keep all our “shut ins”
in your thoughts and prayers.

Dues are due:
Dues notices went out in your last mailing. Please send your
payment to the Chapter Secretary as soon as possible. Per Capita
payment to Grand Chapter and the Masonic Building Assessment
fees are coming due in January and February, and it is imperative
that we get all dues/assessments into the Chapter account very
soon!

VIP Day:
The Worthy Grand Matron in conjunction with the Membership Committee
is having a V(visitation) I(instruction) P(program) on January
15, 2011 for new members or members in new offices/positions.
Come to the Tilton Masonic Temple at 9:30 am to have any questions
answered that you may have as you prepare for the upcoming Visitation.
Also at this event the Membership Committee would be pleased
to meet with veteran officers to discuss in ‘town meeting style’
your thoughts on Chapter Viability.

NH Grand Chapter OES Scholarships: If you, or a relative, are interested in applying
for the Educational Scholarship, and wish to be sponsored through
our Chapter, you must send a letter to the Chapter Secretary
no later than the February 2011 meeting date. All letters requesting
consideration for this Scholarship will be read and voted on
at our February meeting. Only one applicant can be chosen from
each Chapter. Please contact the Secretary if you have any questions.

Pennies for the Pouches Needed: At our last meeting we were introduced to two
fundraisers: “Coins for a Cause” is a Dalmatian bank
where we will be collecting coins for Diabetes, which is Brother
John W. Jackson’s, W.G.P., special charity project; and we will
also be collecting pennies for the Service Dog Project for Sister
Lorraine E. Thompson, G.G.C.C.M. , P.G.M. Please make sure you
bring your spare pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters to the next
meeting to deposit into these two banks for worthy causes.

Masonic Home: Evergreen Place: Evergreen Place is now actively looking for volunteers
to help at the Manchester facility. They need people to assist
as greeters/receptionist in 4 hour shifts; people to assist in
various activities through the week; help with resident transportation;
and minor repair/reconstruction jobs around the facility. They
have a new Library at the facility and would appreciate new or
like new books to help stock the shelves. If you have not been
to the ‘home’ lately, you should stop by and see the many changes
that have made the facility a viable elderly community, a place
where you would want a family member to reside if needed. Please
contact Sister Joan Smith, P.M., Volunteer coordinator, Evergreen
Place, for more information about how you can make a difference,
at (603)888-0891 or JLSPMA@aol.com

who would like to join. Our Sparkles- a group for girls age 4-6
years old- also meet at that time. Please contact Sister Stacy
about being an Eastern Star Grandma to one of the Pledges. The
