Dear Sisters and Brothers:

You are cordially invited to attend the following stated meeting for the purpose of transacting any business that may legally come before the Chapter IN PERSON! While we will have restrictions-Masks must be worn; Social Distancing-six-feet apart; temperature taking and hand sanitizing-it will be a most welcome evening to be “home” in our Chapter. If you are uncomfortable joining us at this time, we all understand, please know that your health and welfare, and comfort level are most important!

Friday, May 28, 2021 at 7:30 pm: Regular Stated Meeting in person- Longevity night. Memorial day tribute will be done. Special program- Ancient York Lodge.

Friday, June 25, 2021 at 7:30 pm: Regular Stated Meeting in person- Visitation night with recognition of our Grand Officers and Representatives

We will have a Zoom link for the business section of these meetings for those persons unable to attend in person which can be gotten from the Secretary. Please contact her ahead of the time of the meeting for the link.

Collation –Unfortunately, we cannot have Social Enjoyment (under the direction of Sister Tatiana Fowler, A.M., assisted by Sister Judy A. Porter and Brother Robert M. Porter Jr. P.P.) at this time, but we can have Cheerful Companionship!

Rehearsals for Visitation: Sunday, May 16th, 1:30-4, and (if needed, a second rehearsal will be Friday, June 11th at 7 pm.

Suppers: We have two suppers coming up that we need assistance on from the chapter members: May 25 in the evening, and June 12 at lunchtime. Contact Sister Shelley Gullett if you can assist (smg55oes@comcast.net)

Thinking of You:
Get well wishes to Sister Tara Lane on her recent surgery, and Sister Lorraine E Thompson PGM who was recently in the hospital. Best wishes to Sister Jen Pizzi on her upcoming surgery.

Congratulations:
To Sister Nikia Quesnel Davis and her husband on the birth of their twin daughters Lorelei and Aurora born April 6th. Congrats to Great Grandmother Sister Phyllis A Lackie PM on this wonderful, blessed occasion. Update on 100th Activities!
Due to the pandemic throwing a wrench in our party plans, the 100th Anniversary will now be celebrated throughout the Institution and Constitution year December 2019- October 2021, with short programs of historical significance that affected Pilgrim Chapter, and finally having the Anniversary party sometime in 2022 when the pandemic is long over, for the health and safety of our members.

On-line Baby photo fundraiser:
A fun way to raise money as we Celebrate the birth of our Chapter- by submitting your baby photo and having members guess who’s who! Send your pictures and fee to Judy Trest, PM ( JThrest@twc.com) – or visit the Pilgrim website (www.pilgrimchapter-oes.org )
Send photos in by May 15th. Guessing starts May 31st. Contest ends on August 31st. See attached flyer.

100 for the 100th
Our 100th Anniversary celebration of the start of Pilgrim Chapter has just begun. As we prepare to have our final celebratory party of our Chartering we invite interested members to contribute to the One Hundred Dollar Club for the 100th Anniversary. If you contribute (or have contributed thus far) a straight monetary donation of $100 toward the Anniversary fund, your name will go on a plaque commemorating your donation. Those interested please send your check payable to Pilgrim Chapter #55, to Sister Joan Smith, WGM, Secy, 16 Cliff Rd. Nashua, NH 03062 by the deadline of October 28, 2021 our official Chartering date.

Traditional Pilgrim Events
Pilgrim Chapter has been known for many unique events over the years– such as the Old Fashioned Degree, Fashion Shows, Pink Ladies, Murder Mysteries. Over the next year we will be putting on many of these events as we celebrate our 100 years:

The Pilgrim Players- presenting the long-awaited Pirates of Tortuga Isle- contact Sister Jenny Taylor-Arnold PM for more information (tayjen76@yahoo.com) There will be two separate shows. (these were scheduled fundraisers for the Dream Builders family)

Scholarship Reminder:
It’s time now to have those high school seniors and college/trade school students apply for scholarships. The Eastern Star Scholarship applications and rules are now online at the www.nheasternstar.org website. They are due June 1st. Grand Lodge has applications for their Scholarship on the NH Grand Lodge website in the Featured News area- applications were due April 1st. Scottish Rite also has the Abbott and Bryant Scholarships- both on the NH Scottish Rite website- due April 15. Knights Templar Scholarships were due on March 1- the deadline has passed- but something to keep in mind for next year. If you have questions, please contact your secretary.

Nashua Assembly #9 I.O.R.G. and Pledge & Sparkles:
Meetings are held on the first and third Thursdays of each month at 7:00 pm. OES and Masonic members are encouraged to attend ALL events. Masks are required as we meet under COVID guidelines. Service and Fundraiser Opportunities around state
Service Dogs Walk: The Order of the Eastern Star Service Dog Committee is having a Walk-a-Dog event from May 1, 2021 to August 1, 2021. Everyone, Star or not, enjoy walking your dog or an invisible dog, 130 miles, because this is our 130 Grand Chapter! Registration is $15.00 per person, dogs are free! You will receive a mask for you and a bandanna for your pooch! The money raise from the walk-a-dog will donated to A.C.T.S. Please make checks payable to “New Hampshire Grand Chapter’. Evergreen Place Spring Clean Up: We are looking for some hearty and handy persons to help with the Spring Clean-up event at Evergreen Place on May 1st. It will start in morning and possibly go to afternoon- and can be done in short shifts. The job entails some raking and cleaning up of localized brush, spreading a topcoat of mulch on the existing mulch beds, planting some petunias, turning over the soil in the planters, assembling the gazebo, and washing the tilt down windows in the building. State Fundraisers for Shriners and Blessings in a Backpack:
The Pirates of Tortuga Isle- Murder Mystery will now be two different shows at the Nashua temple on June 19 and June 26 so that our numbers are down for capacity in dining hall. Jenny Taylor Arnold is in charge of the sold out event and is contacting people who purchase tickets about the date they will be assigned
Mini Golf Tourney is now scheduled for July 10 at Chucksters in Hooksett. Consider signing up for a team ($120 for a team of 5 people), sponsoring a Hole ($50) or a Tee($75) for someone you love(d). Lobstah Shoot-out– is a fun card game where you can win Lobstah and other great things in a fun way. It is planned for August 15 at the Nashua temple in the afternoon. More info will come from Jenny Taylor Arnold and Mike Arnold soon.

Welcome to our newest members, Jacqueline Desrosiers, Madeline Going, and Michael Trest, who were initiated in March at our first in person meeting in many months! Thank you, Sister Judy Trest, who was the courtesy candidate, and also thank you to the members who made this step back night so beautiful! A huge heartfelt thank you from Sister Aimee, Brother Brian, Brother Sam and me.
Brother Sam and I look forward to seeing you in person at our April, May and June meetings, or please join us via Zoom if you are uncomfortable coming out in person, but above all, JOIN US!
