If at any time you would like to come to a meeting and are unable to drive, or need help getting to and from the Nashua Temple, please do not hesitate to contact the Worthy Matron, Worthy Patron, or the Secretary and we will arrange for transportation for you!

What happened at our recent meeting?
At our last meeting we heard annual reports for our Chapter, and Grand Chapter. We extended a hearty welcome to our new Grand Officers. We voted on the finance committee recommendation for dues structure, which will stay the same for this coming year. It was great to see everyone return to Pilgrim Chapter after our summer hiatus.

Collection for Tolles Street Mission:
For the month of October Rising Sun Lodge #39 is collecting non-perishable food items for the Tolles Street Mission to help with Thanksgiving Day Baskets. Please bring a food item to the next meeting and place it in the box in the foyer.

Evergreen Place: Evergreen Place, an Assisted Living Community in Manchester, formerly the Masonic Home, is a 52 bed caring community, offering 24 hour nursing care, preventative health services, respite services, wellness programs, and many on-site needs for their residents. There is no requirement for Masonic affiliation, but many of the residents do have that heritage. Residents feel that this is their home, and partake in many of the activities provided within the facility as well as the numerous and fun field trips offered through their Activities Department. Home is “what they do” at Evergreen Place. If you are interested in more information or would like a private tour, please call 603-669-7361.

Back to Basics Seminar: The OES Membership Committee is sponsoring a ‘Back to Basics’ seminar on Sunday December 2nd in Penacook NH from 2-5pm. The seminar is free of charge and all OES members are welcomed. Topics include Marketing, Communication, Generational Changes, and Leadership Qualities, all of which can help your Chapters to grow. Please join us for an afternoon of cheerful companionship and social enjoyment while we learn more about enhancing our membership. RSVP to Joan L. Smith P.M. Membership Chair, if you are planning to attend.

Unity Party: Tickets are on sale now for the Unity Party, Saturday December 1st at the Shrine Center in Concord NH from 4pm to 9pm. Enjoy an evening of socializing, a delicious buffet dinner, and dancing. Tickets are $22 per person and are available from Joan L. Smith P.M., Secy, as well as several heads of bodies throughout the state.

Congratulations: to Sister Wendy R. Bean, who graduated from Great Bay Community College with a degree in Hospitality Services and to Sister Allison E. Smith graduated from Northeastern University with a Masters in Education- Higher Ed. Administration. Congratulations to Sister Priscilla B. Hildebrand, PM who became a Grandmother again. Congratulations to all our Sisters and Brothers who have been traveling and helping to install in Chapters around the state, and to our Chapter members who have been installed in their dual membership Chapter this month. Your service to the Order is greatly appreciated.

Sickness and Distress: continued prayers go out to Brother David C. Thompson Jr., P.G.P., who is recuperating from leg surgery, to Sister Tracey L. Thompson, A.M., who continues with chemotherapy for her Breast Cancer. To Sister Mary Catherine Albenzi who had recent surgery. Thoughtful prayers go out to Sister Ellen Winters who has been under the weather, and Brother Gibert P. Bemis P.P. who is transitioning to a new living residence in Bedford soon.

Sympathy: To the family of Sister Josephine A. Millett, and Sister Ethel E. Gould, who passed away this month. Sympathy is also extended to the family of Brother Raymond M Flynn, P.P., father to Sister Lisa F. Britko P.M., grandfather to Sister Allyson J. Britko, who passed away after a long courageous battle with Alzheimers disease.

Dues and Assessment:
Some members still have not paid their dues for 2011 and 2012. Please check to see if you have your dues card in your wallet, and if not, send the fee into the Secretary as soon as possible. Dues notices for 2013 will be going out with the November bulletin. Please help the Chapter by paying in a timely manner.

Nashua Assembly #9 I.O.R.G. and Pledge & Sparkles:
Meetings are held on the first and third Thursdays of each month at 7:00 pm. OES and Masonic members are encouraged to attend ALL events. The next meetings are October 18th and November 1st . Please feel free to contact Mrs. Deborah A. Wall, M.A. for more information regarding any Rainbow events at (603) 494-9299.

For Pledges and Sparkles, please call Sister Sharon M. Jackson, P.M., Pledge Mother at (603) 598-2682 or Sister Stacy M. Desrosiers, P.M. at (9603) 579-0519 if you know of a girl between 6-11 years old (for Pledge) and 4-6 years old (for Sparkle) who would like to join.

Pledge Breakfast: The Pledges serve an “all you can eat” breakfast the third Sunday of the month for a donation of $7. Money earned helps the Pledge with their various causes as well as supplies for their girls projects. Last month they served to support the Community Music School and raised $300.00. This month the breakfast will be on October 21st from 8:00- 10:30 am.

Tabs for Shriners: The Nashua Rainbow Girls continue to collect can tabs for the Shiners’ Hospitals as a service project and would be more than happy to take any tabs collected off your hands. Feel free to drop Tabs off at any meeting, or if you need a pick up from your home feel free to contact Sister Joan L. Smith P.M., Secy, for pick-up of tabs from your home
