You are cordially invited to attend the stated meeting on Friday, February 22, 2012 at 5:00pm, for the purpose of receiving petitions, balloting, and transacting any business that may legally come before the Chapter. Sister Officers may wear colored gowns for the early meeting, but must wear white gowns for the Visitation.

There will be a Reception for our Honored Guests at 7:00pm. Honored Guests for the evening are as follows: General Grand Chapter Committee Members: Sister Shelley M. Gullett, P.G.M., Necrology, Grand Secretary in NH; Brother Jeffrey L. Brown., P.G.P., Public Relations; Sister B. Judith Fenner, P.G.M. Deputy for Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Grand Officers: Brother Ronald E. Carbary, P.P., Grand Chaplain; Sister Lisa K. Hollis, P.M., Grand Esther; Brother Larry D. The Official Visitation of the Worthy Grand Matron accompanied by the Worthy Grand Patron and assisted by the Grand Marshal will begin at 7:30 pm.

Huggables: Please continue to be collect huggable stuffed animals for the Grand Chapter’s Huggable program. We hope to decorate our entire Chapter room at Visitation with many cuddly creatures. Be sure to bring yours to the Visitation, or if you need them to be picked up, call your Secretary.

Collation: Under the direction of Sister Tracey L. Thompson, A.M., assisted by Sister Judy A. Porter and Brother Robert M. Porter Jr., P.P. This month’s collation will be provided by donations from our Past Matrons and Past Patrons.

Quilt Project: Are you handy with sewing, crocheting, or knitting? This year the Worthy Grand Matron’s special project is collecting handmade quilts as well as knitted and crocheted blankets to be donated to David’s House. The Quilts/Blankets should measure no more than 58” by 60”. This is a terrific project for those who can’t make meetings but wish to contribute. Contact your Chapter Secretary, Worthy Matron, or Sister Lisa K Hollis, PM, Grand Esther, Committee Member, as they will be glad to pick up any donations.

Ways+Means Committee: Your elected officers met with members of the Finance Committee and have established a new Ways + Means Committee. This committee will be in charge of fundraising events that help with Pilgrim Chapters financial needs. If you would like to serve on this committee, please contact your Worthy Matron or Worthy Patron. Events already scheduled are: an online flower fundraiser now through April 26, and a Yard Sale June 16.

What happened at our recent meeting? The Nashua Pledge girls are looking for Eastern Star women to volunteer as “grandmothers”. We voted on Sister Allyson J. Britko to be sponsored by our Chapter for the OES Scholarship through Grand Chapter. We donated to the Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl Ad campaign, and are currently collecting names for the Program Book Ad for the Spring Fling NH OES Charity Ball in April. If you would like your name listed for $1.00, please contact Sister Joan L. Smith, PM, Secretary. Deadline for Ad names is no later than March 15. The Murder Mystery Fundraiser for Breast Cancer, the Worthy Matron and Patrons charity this year, has been rescheduled to May 3 at the Nashua Masonic Temple.

Spring Fling NH OES Charity Ball: Tickets are on sale now for the Nite Prowlers Charity Ball on Saturday April 6 at the Fireside Inn in Lebanon, NH. Dinner will be $50.00/person (choice of chicken, beef, or vegetarian) with reservations due to Sister Konni Atwood, PM, at konniatwood@gmail.com. Sympathy is extended to Sister Charleen Lord on the loss of her sister and to Sister Mary Catherine Albenzi on the loss of her father-in-law, and her Grandfather.

Sickness and Distress: Brother Herbert H. Hutchinson, P.P. continues to recover at home after his recent surgery; Sister Jeannette L. Healey, P.M. could use cards of cheer; Brother Richard J Thompson, P.P. and Sister Janet L. Thompson, P.M. have both been under the weather; Sister Allyson J. Britko was in a car accident but is on the mend; Sister Priscilla B. Hildebrand, P.M. was recently in the hospital and is now at home; Brother G. Raymond Palmer had a fall last month and is recuperating; and to all Sisters and Brothers who have been under the weather with various flus this winter.

Nashua Assembly #9 I.O.R.G. and Pledge & Sparkles: Meetings are held on the first and third Thursdays of each month at 7:00 pm. OES and Masonic members are encouraged to attend ALL events.
